Orange Power Pump: Not As Naughty As It Sounds

This prototype baffles me (that was kind of a pun). On one hand, or foot… well, you can charge up a cell phone enough to make a five minute call. But if you think about it, I think you’d be better off applying your energy directly to a mechanism that only turns the generator. I imagine that there’s a ton of energy waste in this power pump design. Of course, this design does give you the added benefit of being able to blow up air mattresses, so the unit serves a dual purpose. That, and the inefficient design means that you’ll actually be getting some exercise. Hey, it’s either that, or I start taking atro phex … this gut isn’t going away by itself!
