Forza 3 Video Made Using In-Game Editor
Posted: June 9th, 2009 | Author: Sly | Filed under: Uncategorized | No Comments »This video was created entirely with the in-game video editor that is to ship with Forza Motorsport 3. That’s pretty cool, though I certainly couldn’t picture myself spending hours on end editing video footage. It just sounds tedious and boring… which reminds me of Forza Motorsport 2. The game attempts to be a driving simulator, and that’s pretty much where they lost me, because there isn’t a whole lot of fun or excitement involved, especially when you progress deeper into the game and the races get longer and longer… until you come face to face with their endurance challenges… which ask you to race for 30,40 or even 50 laps… let me just say that I have yet to even toy with the idea of taking on these challenges… Fortunately, the developers had the presence of mind to include the ability to hire a driver to drive on your behalf… sadly, they make you sit through the race, so your game console is left occupied for an hour or two while you wait for the race to finish.
One of the more fun elements of the game includes upgrading your vehicle- picking performance parts, adding a fresh coat of paint, etc.. Sadly, the game doesn’t give a great feeling of speed, so all of the upgrades in the world don’t translate into an exciting driving experience.
In summary, Forza 2 is one of the most boring games I’ve ever played, and I am not looking forward to Forza 3 at all.
