I don’t think the title is long enough. Maybe I should add another sentence to it? One day, I swear I’m just going to put the whole article in the headline; that would be awesome.
It’s pretty obvious what is going on in this picture- there are several R2-D2s, and they’re engaging in some sort of montage. One is obviously cleaning up after a party, as there’s confetti all over the floor.
The other one is sitting in front of a giant, dusty computer, and it’s apparently being electrocuted, because it is glowing. Alternately, it could be scouring the web for online life insurance quotes, and the glowing is data being transferred. Because in the future, you can see wifi.
The last two R2s are obviously floating around in space and having a conversation while ignoring a box. It’s possible that they just left the party that R2 number one is cleaning up after. It is also possible that the stuff on the floor in the first picture is in fact robot puke. Aint no party like a robot party, amirite?
If you want actual details about this product, check my source, because I obviously can’t be bothered!

While I give these guys kudos for thinking out of the box, I have to say that this design isn’t exactly a winning hand… like… ahem .. a royal flush. Yes, I think that this toy is about as crappy as that pun. I mean, what’s next, a transformer that turns into a blackhead extractor ? This is one time that I wish the designers would have stuck to a winning formula, because this design stinks!

Leave it to the Japanese to give us a voice controlled toy that makes you use an accent to control. Given my previous experience using voice recognition technology, I’m not so sure about this toy…
My last brush with voice recognition was the game “rainbow six: vegas”. For those of you who don’t know what the heck that is, it’s a tactical shooting game, where you have to take out a bunch of terrorists in Las Vegas. It has a voice recognition, meaning you can yell into your microphone and your guys will try to do what you tell them to… up to a point. You can say things like “wait here”, “go there” ,”follow me”, “stay”,etc… Sadly, you can say something that isn’t in the list of available options, and it will try to do something anyway. Apparently, “Oh Sh–!” means “go over there and get shot”. Let’s just say that it was easier to forget about the voice controls and stick with the good ol’ push button action.
I assume it isn’t going to be any easier with this toy, especially considering the commands:
To start up the engines, say “engine staato”, to shut the engines off, it’s “toe-mah-reh”. To go up, you say “appu”, but to fly down, you still say “down”. Go figure. You can always just hover by saying “holdo”.
