Desktop Live Soundstage

live-dream-jazzAt first glance, the desktop live soundstage looks like just another set of novelty desktop speakers or possibly an iPod dock, but it is neither. This thing actually plays the instrument that you place on the stage, and only out of the speaker that it is placed near. Placing an upright bass on the left would result in a bass playing through the left speaker. Adding more instruments makes them join in, playing the same song. This toy comes pre-packaged with thirty songs, and you can add more buy buying them and transferring them via SD card. Sadly, this kind of fun, time wasting extravagance doesn’t come for a song. Be ready to shell out at least $249 for one of these.

Transformers Soundwave MP3 Player Is Pure Modern-Retro Awesome

Posted: February 12th, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: awesome, cassette, mp3, retro, robots, robots in diguise, sd card, transformers, transforming | 1 Comment »

I would proudly rock out to this sweet looking retro transformers MP3 player. It is totally awesome, and reminds me of the ipod of my day- the walkman. I spent many an hour walking around, riding the bus and rocking out with my headphones on. Batteries were in high demand, and I would sometimes rewind my cassettes by hand to save some juice. That isn’t an issue with this SD-card enabled MP3 player. All it needs is a little cassette that turns into some sort of quadroped, and I think I might just jizz in my pants from retro-nostalgia glee.

Don’t Call It A Comeback…Optical Media Gets Smaller

Posted: February 4th, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: but it's cute, lame, minidisc, sd card, weak, your product stinks | 1 Comment »

Vmedia is trying to market a new, smaller minidisc to compete with SD Cards what I’m going to call the battle for the “smaller than Nooka watches , bigger than a postage stamp” media war.

Okay, I really don’t think that these cute little discs stand a chance, just like the name I gave the market struggle that Vmedia is going to encounter when they pit their little disc against the cheaper, faster, more reliable, more reusable media known as the SD Card, which holds more data, too.

In their defense, Vmedia admits that their format is inferior and provides some lame excuse about SD Cards not having standards. Pretty weak, if you ask me. See my source for their lame defense of their own product.
