Motoman, I Think Love You!

I can sum up my thoughts on Motoman in four words: Most. Romantic. Robot. Ever. Seriously, I’ve never met a robot that actually cooked breakfast for me them morning after. They usually just slip out quietly, leaving a twenty on the nightstand. All this time I thought robots were going to take over the world, when it turns out that they just want to take me home. Oh sure, they’ll sweet talk you about going on vacation to the Outer Banks , but the only place they really want to get is in your pants. But not Motoman, with his rough, yet gentle “hands” that can assemble intricate machines in minutes.

Just a second…

“Motoman, where are you?”

Damn. I lost another one.

See how Motoman assembles a camera in minutes. [techeblog]

Awesome Costume: Mech Warrior!

This has got to be the coolest Halloween costume I’ve seen in a long time. This Halloween was the suckiest ever for me- we only had about ten groups of trick or treaters. Looking on the bright side- we’ve got lots of left over candy.

Next up: Thanksgiving. We’re going to try to wrangle up a turducken. I live in Arizona, and most butchers haven’t even heard of them. One day I shall taste the awesome flavors of turkey, duck and chicken in one bite.

Awesome Robot Uses Gypsy Magic To Climb Stairs

Everyone knows that robots have a hard time with stairs. Heck, it’s one of the reasons why they haven’t taken over the world. That, and super soakers.

Here’s a robot that has managed to conquer the cliff-like structures that we call stairs. Fortunately, this is a cute little robot that you could probably swat away if it tried to attack.

If it weren’t for the innovative technology involved, I’d say that this looks like something you could build at home. Speaking of building your own robot, why didn’t they use LEGOs? Everyone knows that anything made out of LEGOs has a better chance of being picked up by technology blogs.
