… Then he would probably be a pothead. You know, ganja smokers go around thinking “cool, I could totally make a bong out of that”. Well, this guy has that same creative spirit, only he’s making instruments out of random junk. I bet he really, really likes music. I wonder if you can play a hans-solo on this? Oh, that pun was so bad, I think I just made a wookie in my pants.

Desktop Live Soundstage

live-dream-jazzAt first glance, the desktop live soundstage looks like just another set of novelty desktop speakers or possibly an iPod dock, but it is neither. This thing actually plays the instrument that you place on the stage, and only out of the speaker that it is placed near. Placing an upright bass on the left would result in a bass playing through the left speaker. Adding more instruments makes them join in, playing the same song. This toy comes pre-packaged with thirty songs, and you can add more buy buying them and transferring them via SD card. Sadly, this kind of fun, time wasting extravagance doesn’t come for a song. Be ready to shell out at least $249 for one of these.

Drawdio

Posted: December 30th, 2008 | Author: | Filed under: musical instruments, ramen | No Comments »

Drawdio is a pencil/synthesizer hybrid that will fit any budget. As long as your budget includes a twenty dollar bill. Since that is the equivalent of about a month’s worth of Ramen noodles, you’re going to have to count me out, but I’m sure the rest of you can probably afford to shell out a twenty spot without thinking twice. While you’re at it , get your kids some catimini clothes and a starbucks. Go ahead.. I’ll wait for you. It’s not like I have anything important to do.

I see you decided to come back. Yay.

This pencil synth uses the conductivity of the pencil lead to make unique sounds while you’re scribbling away.
