Flying Dune Buggy: I’ll Take Ten of Them

I consider the flying car an inevitable part of technological advancement, but I never stopped to think that there would be flying dune buggies. This invention is so many shades of awesome that I can hardly see straight. I couldn’t be bothered to read what the writers at Gizmag had to say about it, but it looks like it uses the same principals as the powered parachute. If only this thing was amphibious, then it would be the ultimate go anywhere, do anything machine!

Fuel Cell Plane

Boeing just sent up the first fuel cell airplane. It produces zero emissions, and apparently, it needs all sorts of little fins at the ends of it’s wings and stuff. Come on, you can’t honestly tell me that those are necessary! It’s probably just a ploy to make people think it’s cooler than a private jet charter when they see it. Bragging rights, you know?

SnelFlight: UFO Technology For Your Amusement

SnelFlight brought some interesting toys to the Toy Fair in 2008- The jumpjet, pictured here, is like a helicopter/airplane hybrid that can hover in place, land in the palm of your hand, and swoop around like an airplane. The remote looks suspiciously like an xbox controller, but this could just be a preproduction release.

What I’m really interested in is the UFO-like contraption that appears in the video below at about the 2:20 mark. Not only does it make me want to film an incredibly low budget movie about an alien invasion, but it looks like a mighty fine cat toy as well… maybe I could make an incredibly low budget movie about a giant cat that saves the world from alien invasion? I think I’ll name it Catzilla!
