Wind Powered Land Vehicle Speed Record Contender

I didn’t even know there was a wind powered vehicle land speed record, but there is, and it stands at an astounding 116.7 MPH. I’m not sure how they pulled that off, but the Greenbird (pictured above) is going to attempt to crush that record on some windy day. Speaking of windy days, last night I had enough flatulence to launch that thing into orbit… but then I suppose it would be considered a gas powered vehicle.

When someone with hundreds of pounds of cocaine says they want to go fast, they mean it! Recently, a motorboat company was busted for selling “uncatchable” boats like the 2000 horsepower beast you see here. So how do the police catch a 2000 horsepower superboat? With a helicopter!

A token of high-seas appreciation goes to neversealand for slowing down enough for me to catch this story.

That’s Not A Hemi!

Here’s one minivan that won’t be late to soccer practice- unless there are accidents or speeding tickets involved.

This jet turbine powered Dodge minivan can go an eighth of a mile in 7.65 seconds, reaching 96 miles per hour in that short distance. I wonder what the quarter mile time would be for a beast like this?

This van uses the power of the jet engine to actually turn the wheels, as opposed to using thrust to propel the vehicle.
