This OMFG Russian Laser Tank would be pretty awesome if it actually shot the kind of lasers that I had in mind… you know, the ones that can burn a hole in the sun and flash-fry a turkey in one millisecond. Sadly, this thing was just designed to blind fighter pilots. Way to turn something potentially awesome into something that is oh-so-wrong.

This thing is just too cool. There’s a video of it here, but the video is so washed out that I liked the picture better. Also, the pac-man animation is really slow. Still, this is one of those things that is so cool, it makes you want to learn more about beating the cold weather just so you can sit and stare at wintery displays for hours on end!
I think I’ve made it pretty clear that I’m not a Star Wars fan. That doesn’t mean that I can’t enjoy a really cool bit of fan art. If these were ice sculptures, that would have been a great pun. I suppose that there’s nothing wrong with really liking a bit of fiction, but some of these Star Wars fans take it too far- from sending out ‘the force’ baby announcements to making their cars look like spaceships. Well, it verges on mental illness.
Also… why is it that Star Trek fans get to be called ‘Trekkies’, but there’s not easy term for those who are obsessed with Star Wars. Can I call them “Warries”?
